Dynamic team of accounting professionals

Jacqueline Gero, CPA, is the Co-Founding Partner of Gero, Evaul & McCloskey. She has more than thirty five years of experience in public accounting.

Jackie specializes in corporate, individual, estate, and trust tax matters, international and partnership tax planning with an emphasis on real estate acquisition, professional associations, pre-immigration planning and closely-held companies. She is responsible for the tax quality review and planning for several significant accounts.

Jackie is a member of both the FICPA and AICPA and has served as Audit Committee Chair of the Florida Federation of Business & Women's Club. She is a past president of the Dade Chapter of the FICPA. She has also been a speaker at several events on tax matters and is revered by many of her clients, as well as other professionals, as an expert in various tax related matters.

Jackie is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a degree in business administration.

Scott Douglas Evaul, CPA, CGMA, is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Gero, Evaul & McCloskey. He has over fifteen years of public accounting experience.

Scott’s focus of practice includes small business consulting and planning, high net worth individual tax planning, real estate taxation for domestic and multi-national entities, inbound international planning and compliance, and tax and accounting issues related to non-profit organizations and associations.

Scott is the Vice-Chairman and Co-Founder of Handling Risky Business, Inc., a non-profit organization targeting at risk youth in Broward County. Scott and his wife, Georgia, are volunteers for The Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Florida. Scott sat on the boards as Treasurer for the Rotary Youth Camp, Inc., and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend during his tenure in Tallahassee, Florida. Scott was also a community based mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend. Scott is a member of the FICPA and AICPA.

Scott is a graduate of Florida State University with degrees in accounting and finance, with a concentration in real estate.

Edward F. McCloskey, CPA, is the Auditing Partner in charge of Gero, Evaul & McCloskey’s Attest and Quality Control Department. He is a CPA licensed in both the states of Florida and New York.

Edward has over twenty years of experience in public accounting the majority of it being with one of the “Big Four" accounting firms where he would leave as a senior manager. He would later serve as the CFO of a privately held company. Prior to joining Gero, Evaul & McCloskey, Edward was responsible for the audit and firm quality control department of a Florida regional public accounting firm.

Edward has broad experience in various industries auditing privately owned, public, not-for-profit, employee benefit plans (including 401K’s) and home owners' and condominium associations. Edward also uses his experience to aid clients in the areas of accounting write-ups, technical issue analysis, forensic investigation, business valuations, business reorganizations, marital dissolution, cost analysis, internal control review, SEC form filings, accounting software set up, income tax effects on financial statements and other consulting services.

Edward is a graduate of the State of New York at Geneseo with a degree in accounting and is a member of the FICPA and AICPA.
